Maine-based contact center company now holds both HUBZone certification and Women Owned Small Business certification
BRUNSWICK, Maine – March 21, 2017 – SaviLinx, LLC, a contact center specializing in business process outsourcing and technical support services, has been certified as a Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The HUBZone program promotes economic development and employment growth, and certification enables SaviLinx to compete for additional federal contracting opportunities. This certification is in addition to SaviLinx’s status as a Women Owned Small Business.

SaviLinx is now eligible to compete for contracts set aside for HUBZone firms and has a 10-percent price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions as well as subcontracting opportunities.?The federal government has a goal of awarding three percent of all dollars for federal prime contracts to HUBZone-certified small business concerns. SaviLinx’s HUBZone certification process was aided by the SBA and the Maine Congressional delegation, which helped pass legislation expanding employment eligibility criteria.

To become HUBZone certified a company must be a certified small business, be owned at least 51 percent by U.S. citizens, be located in a HUBZone, and have at least 35 percent of its staff reside in within the HUBZone.
